About Us

We Deliver The Quality Water.

Aqua Clarus was originally established in 1999 to develop and manufacture Total Wastewater and Greywater Treat-ment Systems for homes. At this time a growing concern for the environment and climate change in the world and in particular, Australia. In the mid 1990’s Australia was affected by two very severe droughts, in 1994 the Condamine River was exhausted and 40% of Queensland was drought declared.
The first stage of development involved the separation and treatment of sewage solids and liquids in a bioreactor to an advanced primary stage for underground disposal. The concept was incorporated in a 3000 litre tank, patented and commercialized as the Simply Natural (Blackwater) It was a more sustainable alternative to a conventional septic system.
The second stage of development was to provide a system that treats total household liquid waste to produce high quality water with an improved bioreactor, membranes and ultra-violet disinfection. This was incorporated in the same tank as the Simply Natural, patented and commercialized as the Super Natural in 2004. This water could be re-cycled for above ground irrigation.
The same water treatment concept was incorporated into a greywater treatment system and commercialized as the Super Natural Greywater System. A larger version of the greywater system involving the same concepts was subse-quently developed and installed in a 12 apartment complex in Melbourne www.westwyck.com.
.
In 2007 work commenced on the development of a more compact greywater system and the resultant AG720 system was commercialized in 2011.

The production of total treatment systems continued until 2012 when goverments brought in regulations that prohibited the recycle of treated blackwater . All water had to be disposed of in underground trenches. It water not comercialy viable for aqua Clarus to continue production of advanced systems developed specifically for recycling.
At that stage we decided to focus solely on the treatment k. Aqua Clarus has developed a system that will meet this standard but for cost reasons it has not been accredited to this standard.
To enable suppliers to provide greywater systems NSW and Queensland have reverted to the old stand-ard. Aqua Clarus has a two systems approved. One in NSW M800sx and one in Queensland M800. Both systems use the same innovative process but the NSW system has more above ground components .
